Watching a Dog and Pony Show again.

I feel the Diamond Dogs's pain. Yes I know they were villains and they got what was coming to them but really, I sympathize with them. Dealing with Rarity must be a fate worse than death.

@Mousa: I was never a fan of Ren and Stimpy either; I'm not big on gross out humor.

I don't know about you, but does this episode have a little problem with pacing? The three-minute scene of Applebloom showing off her first and second talents seems to drag a little too long. And three minutes in a 22-minute episode accounts for quite a bit.

I'm kinda wondering if she actually meant to do it. I think I saw a "Oh, holy shit" expression going on there, for a second.

Apple Bloom taking off was what convinced me that it was a dream state.

Cutie Pox was caused by ponies eating some of the same plants together that AB made the potion out of, the plants used to be so prolific that it was easy for ponies to eat them, but no one ever made the connection between diet and disease. Eventually the specific plants died out and became rarer so it became harder for ponies to accidentally eat the right combo, resulting in Cutie Pox disappearing. However these plants were still very prevalent in Zebra lands, which resulted in the Zebra's having more experience with it and eventually curing it.

second Ponies eating the Cutie Pox causing plants also died down as ponies moved away from open grazing and started to eat more prepared foods.

Given that the plant i called hearts desire, and it looks quite visually appealing it's possible that it's one of the plants that evolved to be eaten, and tasted pretty good. IT could have easily died down due to overgrazing as pony society started to die off.

But it's unlikely that it's only the hearts desire that causes it - Zecora said she sees them growing around ponyville. Maybe it's the other component of the potion that became rarer?

EDIT: Oh, oops. I didn't get much sleep last night...

But you know, come to think o it, how exactly does the Heart's Desire work? Zecora said that it reveals the hearts desire, right? Is it maybe like a stimulant, causing the pony to go sort of wild for their passions? Or maybe a depressant that removes inhibitions, like alcohol?

Now I'm imagine pure heart's desire being sold like some sort of back-alley drug on the streets of Manehattan, ground up and stuff. And some enterprising stallion decides to try cutting it with ragweed or something to save money. And then Pony!Punisher gets wind of it, and...

goddamnit.
