Now that I think of it, without zebra alchemy the only way you could treat cutie pox would be to restrain the patient and wait it out. In addition the doctor/nurses would need to help the patient with all of their bodily functions as they would probably be unable to perform them on their own in the late stages.

So, does Cutie Pox become more and more intense as it progresses?

When she only had one, she was still capable of acting normally, she wasn't FORCED to obey her cutie marks

Now I imagine a "Russian Sleep Experiment" style creepypasta, only detailing a victim of Cutie Pox

How many ponies got the original plague. Twilight only says a population but that could be any number, from a village to a country. According to Wikipedia, a plague can mean anything from an epidemic to a pandemic. Cutie Pox might have been the greatest danger to Pony life.

x5 Remember that Cutie Pox was contagious so even if they were strapped down any pony that fed them was at risk of catching the disease, so that's not really an option.

I like to imagine that Celestia herself stepped in during the first plague. She locked off the affected area and tended to everyone there until the disease died down.

Snipes/Apple Bloom would be really weird...although it's kinda adorable when I think about it.

I got the feeling that it sort of ran its course and wore off. I mean, they were considering (briefly) just leaving Apple Bloom alone until it went away. There's no reason to assume that it's lethal, just hugely annoying.

Without a cure I guess there was only be two ways of stopping the spread. Quarantine or purging the infected.

Discord caused the first outbreak of Cutie Pox. This was what convinced Celestia and Luna to stand against him. The dates add up, assuming the Paleopony era matches up with Palaeolithic that should be sufficiently ancient for a reasonable for a change over in power.

On that note who'd be interested in a Fanfic set during the first Epidemic of Cutie Pox?

She didn't say how it disappeared.

Agree'd.

Did some checking. Paleolithic can be anything from 2, 500, 000 to 200, 000 years ago so assuming that Paleopony is a similar time period to Paleolithic that seems old enough that Discord could be running around. Anyone else think he may have caused the first epidemic of Cutie Pox.
