Sorry, have I not introduced myself yet? I'm a grad student and research assistant from the University of Manehattan. My fields of expertise include ecology, animal behavior, and running track. The latter two come in very handy when timberwolves are part of your daily routine. I'm currently part of a field team studying the Everfree Forest.

I just finished the editing the first draft of my second novel.

Now I'm just waiting on a couple people to provide me with some feedback, after which I will make any big changes that need doing and then... well, then I'll try to sell the thing. Feels good to be making progress. And I've got 3 more days of vacation to work too.

Living in a tent in a freakishly autonomous forest full of mythozoological predators just happens to have an adverse impact on one's interdimensional internet connection. Go figure.

I've become something of an expert on mythical predators out of necessity. Timberwolves, manticores, hydras, etc.

Fortunately, we don't have to worry so much about them in our camp anymore since we started keeping the cockatrice around on a leash. It's just a good thing sunglasses turned out to be an effective protection from their petrification.

I do wish a certain pegasus would stop trying to prove her theory that they can be overcome through sheer willpower, though. That nice zebra apothecary down the path is starting to bottle our soft potions in six packs.

@Ivyleague: a pegasus that did, well, exactly that: overcome a cockatrice's stare by willpower alone. she's one of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony.
