@Kegi: So, the letter N makes you uNpopular?
Episode 3 commentaries
Awesome!
[quoteblock]]You know, if I were making the decision, I'd say that Applejack presents a better set of reasons by the sole virtue of leading to helping more than one other person than herself, whereas Rainbow Dash's reasoning is purely about her own self, i.e. selflessness/altruism trumps selfishness. [[/quoteblock]]
Agreed. Then again, as you'll see, The Wonderbolts are
Serious Business to RD.
Alright, let me guess: AJ and RD are going to be butting heads and having hoof wrestling matches a lot more than any other Mane 6 pair, aren't they?
Preeety much.
There's a reason that they are one of my biggest ships.
And Pinkie Pie will almost always get at least one song into any episode that she features in?
She certainly sings way more often than the others.
Oh, boy. Rarity is off in her own world. <tries to tune out her cliched hook-up-with-handsome-prince daydream>
Wait until you actually meet him!
... Sweet, adorable Fluttershy. My heart goes out to her.
I'm sensing the development of a favourite pony.
And does all of Applejack's family-made food have to involve apples?
Apples are
Serious Business to the Apple family. They farm other stuff as well though.
<Double Take> Wait, Fluttershy too?! Oh, for shame, girl! You're being a disgrace to all good Shrinking Violets everywhere!
I found her exchange with Twilight and Angel hilliarious.
Oh Crap. Pinkie needs to learn to think before talking.
Oooooh, yes.
... RD, come on. We're trying to teach an Aesop here. Yes, that's a good girl. Slow to learn is better than never learning, right?
RD can get pretty funny in how self-obsessed she can be.
Alright, prediction time! "Celestia will respond immediately by praising her student's wisdom and rewarding it appropiately with enough tickets for all of the Mane 6." Now, stand by, stand by... YES! Wait, one for Spike too? Well, I guess his complaining was all for show, huh?
Pretty much. Fans like to compare Spike in this episode to an early, in-denial brony. He likes it, but how can he let others realise that he's into something that isn't manly? Then again, a later episode suggests that he's less interested in the gala and more interested in spending time with the others.
EDIT:
... They have a family name?
They're the Apple family.
It's kind of complicated. I originally thought that ponies have family names like we do (it's even a plot point in my fanfic series), but I later discovered that
Word of St. Paul is that they don't. But theme naming happens within families.
