And make that Mr and Missis Cake. That would be interesting.

So, does Ponyville have paved roads? At least some of the roads look like dirt paths, like the one leading to the hospital. But other areas, like the market and the path to the school definitely aren't dirt. They look like they could be pavement, but I have a hard time imagining why ponies would invent pavement in the first place, considering how it messes up unshod hooves. Gravel roads, then?
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

@Yeller: yeah.

@Meta: They seem to mostly have dirt roads. Canterlot might have some paved sections, and the Crystal Kingdom has a lot of paved roads.

[up]Also the Pegasus runways in "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" and/or "Wonderbolts Academy" (some of which are on clouds).

I imagine they use softer materials to make the roads, because our gravel-and-asphalt roads are harsh on pony hooves and horseshoes.

Good gravy, soldout?

Their hooves might not have the same problems that real horses do. We already know they use granular jamming or something.

Cloudsdale must look pretty cool with all the floating city in the sky pathways and such.

They don't really have any paths. They just fly from cloud to cloud. Or use hoof mounted hooks to grab onto the rails and ride everywhere.

I wonder what the fillies and colts that can't fly yet do. Maybe the nursery areas are connected. Or their parents literally pick them up from daycare.

Aww, that would look cute seeing a bunch of foals floating in midair.

Speaking of little cute pegasi, how did Scoots get in Cheerilee's class. She can't fly so she probably lives on the ground.

I imagine they use softer materials to make the roads, because our gravel-and-asphalt roads are harsh on pony hooves and horseshoes.
Also, they would need traction (or whatever the term is) to gallop, which involves the hoof digging a little into the ground, which just can't happen on a paved road.

There are other Pegasi in Cheerilee's class—Featherweight and some background fillies.

I like to imagine they have special rubber-soled horseshoes for better grip.

Then Ponyville must be a bit of a hub for the surrounding areas. Small farms and outlieing settlements go to Ponyville as it's the nearest place for education.

I'm not sure how big it is, but I've pictured it being about 5000 in population with a hundred odd travelers and ponies from around the area visiting and using it as a pit stop.
