If I had to describe real life horses, I'd use these three words: big, cute and smelly. I think at some point media decided to play up the cute aspect.

Because my grandpa was a pretty round guy, and he died at about 70 or so... of bone cancer. Which he got from climbing around radio towers for his job.

Endothermic body types: They're totally a thing that exists.

@Kegisak: I think the term you're looking for is "endomorphic" because "endothermic" could describe all humans, from the skinniest to the fattest. Endothermic means "warm-blooded" in that our bodies produce their own heat and don't rely on external heat sources the way insects and most reptiles do.

As for the topic, insulting people for their weight in general is a personal Berserk Button of mine, so I'd rather stay out of that topic in general.

On a different topic, my 28th birthday is coming soon, on June 23. And to link it to the ponies, what would their ideal birthday celebrations be like? This could include more than just the Mane Six if people want to think of other characters. Here's my guesses:

• Twilight would be the type to like a party with just her closest friends and would like getting lots of books as presents. Kind of like the party she had in Sweet and Elite, where it was just her and the other 5 (aside from Rarity trying to attend Twilight's party and the garden party at the same time).
• Pinkie would probably like the same kinds of parties that she usually throws herself. I would imagine that her ideal birthday party would be very similar to what she imagined the Gala to be like.
• Applejack would emphasize inviting family members, and she might have some group activities that are also farm work projects like the barn raising.
• Rainbow Dash would want to celebrate by going to a Wonderbolts show.
• Rarity would want a very fancy, high-class party in Canterlot.
• Fluttershy would probably want to only invite her closest friends and she would mainly celebrate with her animals.

I've been around real-life horses. First thing that hit me was the smell, not the cuteness.

As has been mentioned already, it was sudden cardiac arrest.

I'm +/- 260 pounds, asthmatic and diabetic, with high blood pressure and a heart murmur. I smoke cigarettes and drink beer like it's soda pop. I'm not expecting to die of old age anyway, so I'll have a beer and a smoke in Mr. Gandolfini's honor.

In other (less depressing) news, this made me lol.

@Rainbow: Twilight doesn't seem like the big splashy party type if her reaction to Rarity's dress in Sweet and Elite is any indication.

As for birthdays... hmm. Well, we've seen the kind of part that Twilight enjoys, of course - a fairly lighthearted and friendly get-together. Pinkie, of course enjoys her parties with loudness and games. As for the rest... hmm.

I think Applejack is probably the "Have a bit of cake and pal around" type party-wise, to contrast Dash who I'd imagine would like a really lively party, with lots of stuff getting done. Fluttershy would probably prefer to just stay in and see a movie or summat. And Rarity... is harder to peg. But I kinda feel like she's the sort who'd just go out to a restaurant, have a nice dinner, and get right smashed afterwords.

That's an understatement that nopony likes a preacher.

I find myself way too humble to preach anyway.

@edvedd: Yeah, she'd probably just want to have fun with her friends and probably also set aside time to just read her favorite books.

Yeah, Rarity feels like the type who probably gets onto a drinking roll and then wakes up the next day in Pinkie's bathtub wearing a catsuit, unable to remember what happened the night before.

Rarity would throw wine-tasting parties that always get derailed by her friends.

She took a wrong turn at Fillydelphia.

And then she shrugs it off and gets smashed anyway.
