I prefer the

while Celestia and Luna were attacking the Crystal Empire, Sombra's scary door showed Luna the nightmare that no one cared about her nights and forgot about her. Though Celestia managed to pull her out of it this is what planted the seeds that led to her declaring herself Nightmare Moon and trying bring about eternal night.

OHHH I like that one. The "scary Door" itself seems unlikely, just doesn't seem to fit them getting to that point. But the same idea delivered in a different way, yeah I could see that.

Well, back when Sombra still ruled the entrance in the throne room wasn't covered up, so if Sombra had been temporarily distracted, I'd see it as fairly likely they could have got there trying to reach the Crystal Heart.

But it doesn't need to be that specific Scary Door, yes. Since Sombra did those spells I'd guess he could cast them on demand.

My favourite part of her character was definitely the darkness I saw in her. She honestly seemed like she would've turned evil again (or at least have another Start of Darkness) were it not for the mane cast

The effect is actually pretty creepy and detracts from the cuteness of the plushie. It could be used to great effect for anybody who wants to make a creepy pony though.
