Possible, but I don't think there's any real 'technique' to it. In theory it's designed so you should grip the knob, but that requires full-arm movements to use. If it's an arcade stick for a console I find it much easier to grip it below the knob with the fingertips. Easy to get a full range of movement.

@kegi: The technique I learnt was to rest the hollow of my palm on the top of the stick, then use my wrist and forearm to rock the stick for very subtle and fast inputs. With a little work I figured out how to shoot off quarter-circle and Z-motion inputs rapidly with a good arcade stick.

@CDRW: Think Utsuho's spellcards, but with more lasers.

Teeth: Yeah, that was kind of intended given the subject matter. The only thing like that I didn't mean to put in was the spelling mistake, but again, considering the subject matter, it was easy enough to just consider it thrown in.
