I was invited back here (of course, dad was still here). He wanted me to come with him to his sisters when he left but I couldn't do that. No room there and I just spent a fortune fixing my own old room back up.

I've heard of that film. Been meaning to see it - I'll put it on the Netflix queue.

I'd like to think her spellcards would be more creative than that. (When has she ever used her sun-moving powers offensively, anyway?)

There would of course be lasers using the same color scheme as her mane and tail.

Maybe summon a slowly rotating image of her cutie mark where the rays waver back and forth as well as grow and contract.

I'm thinking a storm of white feathers that drifts down from the top of the screen, moving in that almost random back-and-forth motion that feathers do.

The main colors would be white, the pastel rainbow shades of her mane, gold, and yellow. No reds.

What other elements would be awesome in a Celestia spellcard?

It's too bad that none of us have the skills to design and animate a Celestia spellcard as it would look in the game. I have a feeling it would look awesome.

For animating a spellcard, there's always Danmakufu, unless someone knows a better alternative.

As for design, well, that just takes creativity.

If it were me, I'd prefer to take the top-down approach and figure out what kind of theme her spellcards would have before anything else.

Wait, there's programs that will do that?

Dang, you have to run your computer in Japanese locale for danmafuku, and I can't do that on a public computer without admin rights. Maybe I can find something else that will work.

Edit: I think her theme would of course include the sun and royalty. She is also the pony who taught Twilight magic. She's very indirect in the way she approaches situations, so I think that the Giant Fricken Laser Beams would be the only direct attacks and would be a bit of a surprise, and definitely a departure from the rest of her spellcard.

Quick question: Anyone decent at small instruments? I've got a hundred odd bucks I plan to to buy something at a music shop with. Probably a harmonica or some such. Just to see if there's an ounce of musical talent in me, I've tried guitar and piano and no luck with those.

Well it's a bit unfair to call it small, but I like to think I'm rather good with - oh! Oh, you meant musical instruments. Well never mind then.
