I watched "And the Winner Is..." today and I noticed that it's a lot like The Ticket Master in the basic plot of "someone gets a ticket for something and they have an extra one and don't know which friend to invite" but replace the Grand Galloping Gala with a rock concert.

I remember way back in the early days that got mentioned, and I watched the first few minutes. I couldn't be bothered to watch the whole thing though.

Now that's just lazy. They should just commission one of the many talented smut artists we have.

Think that'd make a good Tumblr quote?

If I had a working digital synth, some midis, and a VOPM interface, I could make 8 and 16 bit remixes that would be something to hear. I've done a lot of research into this and I really could do a lot, but there's no robust software out there that doesn't use a graphical interface.

I feel like I should try converting one, but I wouldn't really know how to go about doing that.

it's because she got diabetes she killed herself. She couldn't face a life without sweets. But that was really just the setup, the real story was about the rest of the Mane 6 dealing with the loss.

But too often, the darkness aspect just seems contrived, like Pinkie/Cheerilee/whoever becoming a sociopathic serial killer all of a sudden.

@Kyler: A dark fic can have dark themes and depressing events like death and whatnot, but they aren't necessarily the entire point of the fic, things can get better, and they're typically used in a way to highlight the more depressing aspects of life. Grimdark is just a lot of horror for its own sake. So a dark fic could be about AJ coping with the death of her parents, while a grimdark fic is Pinkie going crazy and murdering everyone for no reason.

Generally speaking of course. Quality varies quite a bit, obviously.

By that definition, any one of the scenarios I presented could cross the border into grimdark. It all depends on execution.

Well, gamers are...not pleased with some aspects of it (related to used games, always online and stuff) that were discussed after the event. The event itself was mostly about TV for some reason. They showed maybe 3 games.

@ Ace: From what I've read, the Xbox One is ugly, not backwards-compatible, and you have to pay to play used games.

This means nothing to me, since my console gaming days ended with the Atari 7800.
