Well I do plan on having a silver lining of sorts for a more Earn Your Happy Ending meaning some of the Tragedy elements would come midway into the story. If you want to read Punishment I have some google docs links available. But I think that we should talk about this on the fanfic thread.

Then Punishment will be a mix of both then.

Dark Fic just means more cynical than the source material but doesn't require any specific elements. Grimdark requires hopelessness, etc.

Dark: The premise would be grimdark, yes.

I personally can't see them doing it, though. Not while they've still got each other.

Well Bittersweet is about Pinkie kiiling herself, and tha's not Grimdark. it's all about how you portray the overall work. Like, okay one of the best qoutes to sum how dark, can not be DARK.

And that attitudue is why I don't think this is a dark work, there are dark aspects to it sure...but in the misdt of all this (the main character) is lamenting that things aren't differnt, trying to find ways to overcome the darkness in all of this. In essence, we've learned that it's a dark world, but the story is focused on one person who doesn't think that it should be.

Well I'm also including the windigos in both for some World Building and because the outright hatred the town has for Gabby Gums would, logically, draw them to Ponyville like the Doctor to Trenzalore.

An Accusation Fic does not need those three things to be so. That would depend on the subject matter you are writing about.

It's kinda sorta really cold over here. Not subzero, because that'd end up making ice and it'd make a more interesting sight than just a roof of grey, dreary clouds, but cold.

I like darkfics when they're based on some kind of deep-seated but established character flaw. Like, I can imagine Pinkie doing Party of One all over again, or Twilight going batshit insane with her sense of obsessiveness, or Rainbow Dash pushing herself to the breaking point (as in literally breaking herself, getting a serious injury, etc.) to hide her insecurity.

But too often, the darkness aspect just seems contrived, like Pinkie/Cheerilee/whoever becoming a sociopathic serial killer all of a sudden.
