What exactly is this? It's a good song, but I can't imagine it in any episodes.

Thinking about Applejack the other day, I think the reason I'm not too bothered about her lacking certain moments of awesome is because to me its clear that her strength lies in that she's the sanest, most down to earth member of the mane cast. Yeah she lacks the outright powers of the others, but she's also the least likely to completely freak out and suffer a mental breakdown in a lot of situations.

I mean its telling that while the more introverted friends became very outwardly aggressive when things go wrong (Fluttershy, Twilight) and the extroverts retreat inwards and cut themselves off due to big problems (Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie) the more balanced Applejack at worst gets unintentionally neglectful. Helps the explain why she is the Team Mom and why she has such a good relationship with Applebloom.

It does sound more like an image song than something that would show up in an episode. I actually really hope that's the case, since we'd probably get one for all the cast.

Hey, are there any dream interpreters here? I had a Pony Dream. Except it wasn't really a Pony Dream inasmuch as it was a dream in which a huge chunk involved Ponies.

The dream involved me finding a DVD in a gift shop of the first three seasons (yeah, even my dream-self saw something unusual about that). Apparently, in the future we're going to get more Discord episodes, but his character is going to be completely changed.

If you're interested, I'll post a more detailed version.

As for the background characters, technically, some of them actually are characters. Especially Lyra. Her funny background moments do imply a sort of characterization, however thin.

Okay well, here's a slightly more detailed version of my dream:

DVD in the gift shop. Besides noticing the "three seasons" thing, I also noticed it was published by Goodtimes*

The only episode I clearly remember watching involved the mane six following some railroad tracks over a canyon and exploring a pyramid. Before getting to the pyramid they ran into Discord, but he wasn't joking or smiling, he just stood there with this sour look and his eyes were drawn like the Joker's in the New Batman Adventures*

I do think that Applejack's status and role will make her eventual moment of awesome and/or Heroic BSOD (something real, not sleep exhaustion) all the more meaningful.

And you clearly want Discord back...as do a lot of us.

Y'know, a mortal villian pony somehow freeing Discord, depowering them to a managable level, and getting him under their control could be an interesting idea.

Discord has to follow their orders, but is also plotting a way to break out of their control and overthrow Equestria again.

@Moe: Sounds more like some other work got mixed up with the ponies. What other stuff have you been watching. (I had a pony dream once, except the last thing I did before going to sleep was play Bioshock. That was one screwed up dream.)
