I dunno, I think Rainbow Blitz and Butterscotch are pretty good names.

(Also, if I remember correctly, Applejack's counterpart is still Applejack?)

'Applejack' I can honestly see as a unisex name. But yeah, other than that and 'Butterscotch' (which I also don't think is a terribly good name), they all look like the author simply ran the mane 6's names through a thesaurus.

Sometimes it does. Sometimes it becomes their middle name. Sometimes they keep their maiden name. Sometimes they join the two (Mrs. Cup Dazzle-Cake).
