Some jazz musicians make progressive rock sound positively self-restrained.

I've heard that Buddy Rich would drum solo for so long, all the other musicians in the band would get up and buy drinks while they waited for the end.

You ever tried The Mahavishnu Orchestra? Jazz/rock fusion, good stuff. Also, the John McLaughlin, Al di Meola, and Paco de Lucia album Friday Night in San Francisco is 100% god-tier acoustic guitar.

I used to watch Jem as a kid, it was in the same block as Robotix and Bigfoot, if I recall correctly.
