At this point I think they're just trolling us with the lack of songs. From now on every episode will have a point where music swells, Pinkie starts dancing, then is interrupted by something.

Of all the stuff we've gotten in this episode it's probably the brief scene with Rarity and Sweetie Belle's parents is going to have the greatest impact on the fanon. I can totally imagine little Rarity growing up, wanting desperatly to be a member of high society but being trapped in a middle class family, doing everything she can to make herself appear more sophisticated.

Conversely I can see Fluttershy being raised in a wealthy family who emphasize politness and proper manners yet wanting to get away from all the rules and just be herself. If this is the case, and the more I think about it the more likely it seems, It's easy to imagine why Rarity hangs out with her so much at the spa.

These are the same parents who TAUGHT Sweetie how to cook like that!!

For some reason I think Rarity did most of the cooking while she was living with her Pee and Emm

So, that's not her real accent.

.... the point where she drops the accent, if only for once moment, will be a bittersweet moment.

Either that or something really big just happened. Like Discord surfing a giant chainsaw down from the moon, which he's just signed his name on, while volcanoes go off in the background.

Rarity reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced "Bouquet") from Keeping Up Appearances.

the fact that rarity acts as if she was from canterlot is very interesting.

I think we will know more about it on ep 9.

I know why eye colour of Mud Rarity haven't make me noticed switch. Because she have AJ eye shape insted her eyes shape.

Just finished watching the new episode. I thought it was very enjoyable. It was a lot more muted than the previous two, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It had some decently funny and cute moments, and it expanded Rarity's and SB's characters nicely.

Felt weird not having Twilight there. But I can get used to that.

I also wasn't taken back by Rarity's sudden show of athleticism. She seems like the type who would go jogging (or...cantering?) and hit the gym. They also got beaten by the town drunk. That wouldn't be likely if it was the real AJ! [wink]

Hm... Rarity does sometimes lose her accent, if she's stressed enough. Not to return-to-Minnesota levels, but the level of posh definitely does vary with her situation.

^There's another mare who looks a lot like Berry Punch in the crowd next to Colgate during the final stretch scene.

Their interactions also make more sense if you consider that it's possible that Sweetie was only born AFTER Rarity moved out, meaning she probably hardly ever sees Sweetie for extended periods of time and is NOT used to having the responsibility of watching someone.

I don't get this "ponies are sexy" business. At all.

I don't usually either, though sometimes the animation is just right enough to confuse me slightly. Like with Rainity while making a seductive face. The confusing thing is most likely generated from the fact that the ponies look like animated humans in terms of facial expressions and stuff; they look enough like human faces to play tricks on the mind.
