Regarding Scootaloo, if it turns out she really is an orphan/disabled, I kinda hope they'd go the route where she's okay with it and doesn't angst 24/7. Not just because I'm sick of all the angst that the fandom comes up with because of it, but because I think it would be a good lesson to demonstrate that someone in that situation is capable of living a normal life and doesn't have to be defined by their disability or family situation.

To be honest, she doesn't really seem all that inclined towards flying... I mean, there are some spots that show she likes to imagine, but on the whole it kinda seems like she's okay with it. If she ever angsted, she's come to terms with it and decided to focus on what she's got... which would make for kind of an interesting episode. You could go two ways with it - some bully tries to make fun of her and she ain't give no fucks. Maybe she challenges the bully to a race, and in the end it turns out, "I really don't care. I just wanted to make you admit you got beaten by a cripple". The other way you could go is with AB or Sweetie finding out about it and being afraid of hurting her feelings, and in the end Scootaloo finds being treated like she's made of glass far more offensive than occasionally mentioning something related to her disability. Just because she's 'different' doesn't mean they have to treat her differently.
