what, exactly, is an accusation fic?

An Accusation Fic is when a fanfic, or events in the fanfic, call out someone for their actions. It became popular to the fandom after Season 2 since its finale is ripe with ponies to call out. Basically, it's What the Hell, Hero? in fanfic format.

Unfortunately, the direction the fandom took it in made the Accusation Fic genre more of a "SHE WAS RIGHT, THEY WERE WRONG" kind of story. The first Accusation Fic about the Wedding, Post Nuptials, took no sides and called out everyone, victim included. Faith And Doubt did it a bit differently, adding drastic consequences to the mix. Families, the sequel to Nuptials, began to focus on some other consequences the invasion brought on.

Bitterness and This Day Should Have Been Just Perfect are just the same. Twilight decides that she's no longer upset with herself but rather pissed off with her friends, has a shitfit, then Rage Quits.

Okay, even though I usually err on the side of caution, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the image Blissey linked honestly isn't that bad. It's questionable, but it's not explicit at all and there's no visible nudity. I'd say that the link should be labeled, but I wouldn't say that it's so NSFW it can't be linked period. Then again, I'm not a mod.

Sorry to interrupt folks. I've been experimenting with Batty's colour scheme again. See, Lurker had a point about his wings. Bat pony wings are differently coloured to the rest of them. So, I made a crappy copy of him and tried some schemes here◊ and here◊. I know the quality is terrible, but that's only because I cared more about seeing how the colours looked as opposed to making it neat. It also gave me a chance to test his new mane.

So erm, thoughts?

I like the blue Batty with the red wings. Maybe not quite that red, though.

I'm partial to the first color scheme personally.

@Psyga: Sounds pretty annoying. Kind of sad since I think those sorts of fics tend to have interesting built in premises, they just usually tend to go to far.

I'm still surprised they aren't more Accusation Fics for MMDW.

As I said, Accusation Fics aren't really my style. Even Post Nuptials was good, but I'm starting to lose interest in the sequels.

So a red coat is definitely out? I think a blue one works better myself, but I'm exploring all options.

I'm thinking maybe his wings should just be a neutral grey and black. I'm very worried about colour schemes btw. I suck at devising them.

It's worth Noting, Apple, that the Bat Ponies wings were just a darker shade of their body colour, so far as I recall.

That said, between the two I prefer blue-with-red-wings, myself.

Freaking fanfiction! I mean, I'm the last person you'd ever see trying to censor or stifle creativity, but in my honest opinion, some fanfic writers take it too far. Still, nothing that the MLP fandom can put out can ever be as bad and rage-inducing as the real-person fanfics I've seen. Four words. Let's Play meets Torture Porn.

So you think the trick might be to just lighten his coat? As his wings are dark enough as they are.

And what worries me too is...when I use one colour, it makes me want to avoid using it in others, which starts narrowing my options. Which is stupid because even the girls share colours.

I know of some Let's Plays that are already Torture Porn. They're pretty hilarious.

Also when you folks say prefer...please tell me if you think that the general idea is just stupid.

@Apple: I wouldn't say that it's stupid, but on the flipside it's kind of an unnecessary change. It's not really much better or worse than the initial design, just... different.

Although it's worth noting that pegasi wings are the same color as their bodies, so making his wings different might stick out a bit.

JT has a point. The wings should probably be either the same color as his body, or a slightly darker shade. Or you could try a gradient, like Cadance's wings.

The bat ponies of Luna's guards have blue wings but grey bodies. But I know what you mean though.

I still sometimes fear over batty even being a bat pony in the first place.

For my part, when I say prefer I'm trying to avoid stepping on what you want. I don't dislike anything you do, but at the same time none of here want to take the reigns away from you. This is your comic, and ultimately all the decisions will, as they must, rest with you.

And, yeah, I think that just lightening his coat could be a good way of doing it.Here's one that I've done - its hard to tell because of how much it's lightened, but his coat is roughly the same colour as his wings, just... lighter.

Hey guys. Don't mean to break up Apple's art, but could I get some more fanfic recs? I've lost the charger to my laptop so I have to borrow various computers to post anything. Anyway, I've still got some reading devices so I was wondering if there was any good fics to keep my pony addiction at bay. I'm over my nervousness over dark fics, so I'll take anything now. With fimfiction's handy download-all feature, this should be much easier. Though I do confess a liking for shipping/comedy and Slice of Life.

Well, lesse... I'm gonna shill The Colour You Bleed, Our Eminence, My Time Among Clothes Hangers, What meets the Eye and... Moonbeam. Ooh, and Zapfilly. I'd shill some of Pannic's stuff, but he's perfectly capable of shilling his own stuff.

Balancing act. I like how Rarity is just relaxing while Pinkie is...doing whatever it is Pinkie does.

Oh, I know. I'm just surprised there aren't more of them. Especially since it's probably ten times more controversial then Canterlot Wedding.
