@Apple: I've found that personally it's best to let the idea stew for a little while before you make any decision about whether or not you want to use it. You should think it over before you decide whether or not to use it.
Hmm... maybe instead of having leaves flow out of him... maybe have grass sprout up where he walks when he's emotionally powered up? It sorta goes with the druidy theme.
@ Mio: Great dissertation on Fluttershy! I think she's really grown on me these past couple of seasons, with the whole "stepping out of your boundaries" theme. (A journey I can relate to.) It'd be pretty funny to see her make her Nightmare Night debut one day.
@Apple: Since I'm the type of person who comes up with ideas at night, I usually try to sleep on it before I decide if I want to nix it. Maybe take a break and come back to it?

@Rainbow: I could see her as a butterfly, actually. She sheepishly enters a swamped Rarity's boutique asking for a costume last minute- and leaves a now joyous Rarity with something overly elaborate and difficult to walk in.

I usually avoid OTC nowadays too. Soemtimes I'll browse the threads, but arguing is a waste of time.

@Apple: On the subject of designing and developing characters, may I suggest picking up Scott McCloud's "Making Comics". Even if you aren't drawing a comic, it has fantastic notes on designing characters, facial expressions, body language, ect. One of my favorite books ever.
