I actually recently ade a post about why Twilight is my favourite pony:

Why is Twilight my favourite pony? Let me count the ways. She's a total nerd. She's sarcastic. She's socially inexperienced. She's desperate not to lose her friends. She takes responsibility when her friends are in trouble. She makes mistakes. She's a wizard and a thumpin' good un at that! She can be condescendingly arrogant at times, but is actually very humble. She's the first to walk into the cave of a dangerous dragon and try diplomacy despite her nerves. She's eager to bond. And to do so by the book. She has OCD. She's accepting of other races and cultures. She's a scientist. She's prone to Cuteness Proximity. She likes animals but is scared of some. She's eager to find a way to help but sometimes battles to. She's prone to shame. She can beat athelites by reading. She's an astronomer. She has no fashion sense. She believes in technical accuracy. She trusts that which she knows. She visits Zecra in the Everfree Forest despite the danger. She wishes to pass on her wisdom to those younger thn she is. She doesn't always know how best to help her friends but tries anyway. She's afrid of dissapointing Celestia. She's a fanfilly. She has an owl and a dragon as assistants. And she loves them. Her idea of the best night ever is talking to her teacher. She's experienced heartbreak. She's insane. She's forgiving and willing to help integrate former criminals. She can't dance (unfortunately, this may not be true anymore). She happily supports her friend's business over forcing them to spend time together on her birthday and sees nothing strange bout doing so. She doesn't see Spike as a pet. She can be innocently incensistive. She introduced Rainbow to Daring Do. She spends Hearts and Hooves Day reading. She gets exasperated. She's irrationlly desperate in the prevention of disasters. She lets Spike explore his heritage while keeping him safe from a distance. She's a detective. She loves her family.

Why is Twilight my favourite?

Because the show keeps giving me new resons to love her.

More seriously, that was very sweet (not to mention adorably dorky) and I completely agree.

Actually for all her obsession with routine, I don't think Twilight is actually OCD. She still might be, but OCD is largely an anxiety disorder - they follow the habits they have because doing otherwise just makes them really, really nervous. The only time I think she's displayed actual OCD was during Lesson Zero.
