Nah, it's not that bad. It's just that when I get to the negatives, I discuss in detail what the problems are, whereas when I discuss the positives, they're basically "I liked this part".

5 minutes into Double Rainboom. Obvious fanwork is obvious. I mean, the quality is up there, but... I guess the writing feels different somehow?

I need to start working on my April Fool's thing. I think I'm going to go into Homestuck esque Quirks Mode again. But this time, it will be much more readable.

I've took a glance at the first few minutes, I ended up a bit bored. It's rather slow paced and no big gags.

On the other hand if Strong or Ball end up leaving the series for some reason we know good substitutes.

So I finally got around to watching Double Rainboom.

...It was most certainly a thing. I think my main problem was the pacing, especially at the beginning. Parts of it dragged on with nothing really funny or interesting happening. They hyped it up as a "fan-made episode", I see no reason on why they couldn't chop it down to 22 minutes. Funny enough, I think I actually liked the Powerpuff Girls sections better than the My Little Pony ones. Would that be nostalgia speaking?

Not bad, and I'm certainly not disappointed as I actually wasn't hyped up about it. In fact all their talk about being "The First Ever Fan-Made Episode!" and build up made me less interested in it, where as say Snowdrop (which is about 8 minutes short of an official episode length) only had a cute trailer, and update video, and *bam* its out. Combined from some of the early talk about it, Double Rainboom turned out better than I expected. Not mind-blowingly awesome or anything, just... eh, its ok.

And that's what I got to say about that.

I think that the 30-minute runtime was a requirement, since this is a student project.

@Yeller: I dunno lol, maybe use a custom css script to turn it all into fixedsys or courier new or Lucida Console?

@Crimson: Some ponies prank from time to time, but we don't have a holiday for it.

This is the funniest thing I've seen on Derpibooru in a while.

I wonder if Pinkie would adopt April Fool's. Maybe she can use it to prank ponies too set on sticking to either the Solar or Lunar Calendar :V

Yeah, it was overall, damn good. Just, not what they hyped it up to be. And the pacing, yeh really could of used some pruning and shortening. But over all, pretty damn good.

Only part that really annoyed me were all the non-pony memes. The pony one's I'm fine with, but the troll face, and whatever the fuck hat was on the moon, yeah those just didn't work at all for me.

@Librarian: that was entirely too silly for this thread. This is a serious thread.

I pretty much agree that it was an episode-length fan video rather than a fan-made proper episode. Though I didn't really read the criticism portion all the way through. The details were kind of going over my head.

I think that moon thing might have been Majora's Mask, but I'm not sure.

Ye gods. Just from the preview image, I can already tell it's going to look really creepy. The way SFM ponies usually do.

I posted my review elsewhere, but I'll phrase it here in one sentence: the greatest attempt by a fan to make an unofficial Pony episode thus far, but the pacing is off, and the jokes and twist in the second half can get gimmicky.

If only Snowdrop didn't completely shatter its hype as the "first fan-made episode online". Though, Snowdrop was only 8 minutes long, but was by far much calmer and tolerable, and Double Rainboom didn't live up to the hype it wanted.
