They should made something pony in that April Fools Day gag.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

Swim dammit.

Maybe it's Lamarr.
That's my dream. It's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor … and surviving.

Anyone else noticed TV Tropes's April Fools gag yet?

Oh, so it's out now? I'm guessing it's being eaten alive by its own hype?
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

Check your location. (No, I didn't notice. It was pointed out to me.)

Oh, guess they decided to start things early.

Apparently. I haven't watched it yet, but from what I've heard, while good, it doesn't measure up to the hype at all.

Also, at least the April Fool's joke isn't that disruptive this year.

This would almost be sexy except for all the bleeding and stuff.

Seriously, somebody get that girl a first-aid kit.

I still didn't watch Double Rainboom.

What's plot of it?

@Lopiny: Pretty much. It hyped itself up as a professional-quality episode comparable to the show itself, and in that regard it's pretty lackluster. It's still a very very impressive fanvideo, but what they ended up making wasn't really what they said they were making. So yeah, it has some issues, which would be a lot easier to overlook if not for the fact that the makers made such a big deal about how show-accurate it was going to be.

And there's one hell of an unexpected crossover.

Yea, I've been reading up on some criticism, particularly one tumblr guy tearing the writing a new one.

Unexpected crossover? They should have had the Spanish Inquistion.

@Lopiny: I actually agree with most of his critiques, although I don't have quite as much of a dim view of the episode as a whole.

It wasn't quite as good as I hoped, but was pretty good and entertaining overall. But yeah, the pacing was far to slow in parts, and as much as I love pony memes and references normally, this one did overdo it. Especially with all the non-pony memes added in, Those were just totally unnecessary.

Oh man, when I post my review of it, people are going to think I hated it. Even though I enjoyed it for the most part. I just think that the people who made it basically shot themselves in the foot when they compared it to the show, because it simply falls short of that in pretty much every way.

[up] I think that they did fulfill their promise of "show quality animation". The key word here being animation.

Eh, even then I'd put the animation at being more like 95% show accurate rather than 100%. They overtweened it, and the characters' body language leans on the Milking the Giant Cow side of the spectrum a lot of the time. Honestly, I think the music is the strongest aspect of the episode, followed shortly by the animation. The Rainboom itself looked awesome, but they went a bit overboard in the expressions. Like look at the first 30 seconds with Twilight. She cycles through like 10 expressions when she really only needed one or two.
