@JT: Yeah, I think they could have managed expectations a bit more if they hadn't called it a 'episode'. That just makes people want something on-par with the show.
Well, at least this proves that with enough hard work, fans can do awesome stuff if they put their talents to good use. Just gives me more respect for the animation staff on doing what they do, animation errors aside.
Of course I can barely see any of it, but with enough rewatches and general commentary I can get an idea.

Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!
Can't say I ever saw those. However, I do recall seeing a trailer for Double Rainboom some time ago which had a shot of Pinkie pulling Dash through a portal, so I figured there was some sort of dimension-hopping in there somewhere.

I remember when people were complaining about the trollface in the preview storyboarding, and suggested it might just be a placeholder.

Thank you for responding to my comparison request. I honestly feel that MLP Fan Vids of signifigant quality tend to be polarising recently. example opinions (That are not my own)
You forgot Picture Perfect Pony. If you ignore the
O Cs, then it could be an actual song from the show.

Speaking of fan videos, the

I never went into "Double Rainboom" expecting something of show quality. I took it for what it was: A fan project. Did they go overboard with the sight gags and references? Yes. I also agree with those who wanted more characterization, and I thought Twilight having a full-blown science lab in her library was just weird. As a fan-made episode, though, I found it enjoyable.
