Yeah, one of these days I really hope to get over my depression. It's not easy, but I know one of these days I'll get there. That's actually why I got into the show, I was rather cynical and doubtful about a girl's show featuring talking ponies and friendship, but I figured if it could make me feel a little better it was worth a look.

'The protagonist, Twilight Sparkle, is a young unicorn girl. She lives in the royal capital of Equestria, a peaceful land of unicorns, pegasi and ponies. However, Twilight, the passionate scholar, receives an order from the Queen, Princess Celestia [The summary uses 'Princess Celestia' as a name, interestingly enough] - 'don't just study, but go out and learn about friendship, as well'! Together with her baby dragon Spike, she moves to the village of Ponyville... and stumbles onto something huge?! What interesting friends will she meet? Will she be able to learn about friendship?

The broadcast has finally begun!'

Oh, not at all. I use what's called a screen-reader. Basically it's software that uses a synthesized voice that reads what ever my cursor's on. Most people find it incomprehensible gibberish, but you get used to it.

Mostly because it lacks a lot of inflection in a human voice, so the lack of cadence can be tricky for people to pick up on it.

True, but these have to be pretty robust to handle at the speed of your computer. Still it's no excuse for the limited selection of voice and tone and the downright nightmarish prices for them. The most popular reader, Jaws

is no cheaper than 800 bucks with the latest version going for 1200$.
