...since when?
Did they reduce the damage as well? Because 2D4 automatic seems a bit powerful, compared to the other at-wills a Wizard can have, but 1D4 automatic seems a fair fallback tactic.

I have a message from another time...
@Applelight: I wouldn't worry about it; the only real similarity is the color scheme, and there are a limited number of them to choose from.

you're stronger than you think you are.
Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!
Apple...Coconut looks SO. CUTE when he looks all happy like that XD You did a really good job on him.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
...hold up. Magic Missile isn't guaranteed damage in 4th Edition. It's a standard attack roll jobbie.
Everyone knows that if you really want to do garuenteed damage, you need to use Hail of Stone anyway. No SR, no save, no attack roll, works in an Antimagic Field, untyped damage so no DR or resistance, and it's AOE so it bypasses spell turning and similar defences and it works on swarms.
There are very few things that can stop a Hail of Stone.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

Ah, but what about...a Stone of Hail?
Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!
It's Batty, not Coconut.
The only similarity I see is that they have the same color. You're going to get that a lot, just by coincidence.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
...who plays 4th edition?
And now its raining flaming zombie pirahanas everywhere.
Btw, have you guys up voted my stuff? I want to know if people who don't know me are liking it.
I would if I had an account there.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Well, even at that low damage, Magic Missile is still guaranteed damage. Being able to deal damage ot something you're having a horrible time landing a hit on is a nice fallback tactic.
Oh, and I play 4th ed.
I have a message from another time...
I humbly haven't played enough Dungeons and Dragons to have a preferred edition, though I seem to find myself kinda averse to the spellcasting classes for the moment.
It's a Demonic Lighthouse Slide! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I beg of you, Durza, make it so.
