There are some good patterns you can buy for fairly cheap. The one I am using is from Valley Violet on Deviant Art and Etsy. I think I paid 15 USD for the mare pattern.

This Derpy is made out of Flannel... I couldn't find any Fleece in the right color or I would have used that. The fleece is much more forgiving and stretches a little more.

Her wings are floppy cuz I didnt wire them or put any stabilizer in them. I wanted to see how they came out just plain. Not very impressive. Next plush will have a pipe cleaner or some kind of iron on stabilizer to give them more shape. This plush is prettymuch an Experiment for me... I want to work on the head a bit since I dont like how pointy her muzzle is.

That is what Im doing to make the mane and tail... its rather tedious.

Next pony Im going to work on will be a Bat-Pony. Im going to do his mane in fabric though since Im afraid to try and style the yarn too much. Maybe once I get better at hiding the knots you get when you make the tufts.

Third plushie... I'm thinking about doing Firefly from G1 since she was my favorite. She's going to have a yarn mane too... or Mohair if I can find the right color!

@Turtle: I did print out some templates, which I can use for my next plushie. The hard part is getting other plush cloth in other colours, although I can use the felt I already have. I plan to use simple layered felt patterning to make the mane and tail.

I already have the fabric and embroidery done for the Bat pony Im going to do. He's going to be black with a dark gray mane with yellow striping. His cutie mark is this which is basically the symbol for pluto and the emblem from the armor the bat ponies are wearing in the episode they show up in.◊ I think his name is going to be "Pluto Boom"

This is the eye Im using for Bat-Pony◊ I digitized it from a picture from the episode. It looks pretty good I think, though everyone seems to draw them with pointier pupils.

If you can get me a decent looking version of Aerobat's cutie mark I can see about digitizing it for the embroidery machine.

Speaking of the EQG thing, I think it's highly unlikely that that dog Spike was official. A) It doesn't match the art style, and B) it isn't part of a promotional image. He should have shown up with Twilight or something.

@Ace - There are a bunch of places that sell "Minky" online, which is a popular fabric for making pony plushes. Im not sure exactly where you are located but check out this list and see if any of the sellers would be close buy to save on shipping

@Turtle: did a quick search on Google, I'll try People's Park complex, Chinatown, and some other similar places. Tried Art Friend before, but they don't deal with plushworks (Although I got the gold wire I needed for my soulgem crafting from them!).

So yeah ... I was buying some pink Minky for the Firefly plush I plan on doing (Its just about the right pink for Pinkie Pie too).... and I saw This one◊ and This one◊ and got a yard of each of those too. I hope they're close to the right colors...

For the other character you drew, Coconut, I was thinking "Coconut Palm" would be a good full name. He does look like a palm tree, after all.

Maybe make it an adventure about Batty trying to get back home after getting stuck where he is due to some sort of circumstances. He somehow requires an airship and rounds up a crew... but ends up on adventures and stuff instead? Maybe he inherits the ship (and crew) or something and that's why he's where he is.. but has no idea what to do with it resulting in hijinks?

Don't want to write your comic for you just throwing some ideas out there.

On a related note, "Coconut" being a name without anything else might be confusing, since there's a background pony stallion with "Coconut" as a Fan Nickname.
