^^^^We've been over this several times, Death. 'Derpy' is an insulting term for mentally retarded people. People in this fandom use it as an affectionate term for Ditzy, but it is not an affectionate term. It's an insult, nothing else.

The fact that the one reference we have to a possible canon name is "Ditzy" implies that she's The Ditz, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's stupid. Just that she doesn't think things through well enough.
