There's more to performing than just having everything memorized though. You need to have a flair for the dramatic. You need pizzazz... (and other generic showbiz terms)

You need a little... RAZZLE DAZZLE

If I were Trixie I'd get that spell learned as fast as I can. It'd be the ultimate method of looking good on stage

They'd be able to outperform Trixie if they worked in a group.

I kinda wanna see an episode about that now. Trixie comes back for revenge and challenges Twilight to a "battle of the magic shows" Twilight reveals that she's learned all of Trixie's spells, but because she lacks the theatrics all her attempts fail miserably. Then her friends step in and help her perform the show

Trixie only has some flashy tricks that can impress some people, but not impressive enough to get herself celebrety status. Or atleast a crew to put up the stage for her.

It seems that all she has done is wander about, brag about "vanquishing the dreaded ursa major" when she hasn't, and being a bitch to people who question her.

She apparently has ways of messing with other ponies, tieing them up and changing their hair colors, but not much else.

And the only illusion Trixie showed was that one with the ursa and her looking like one of those "animated neon sign" things.

Maybe she just hasn't TRIED to become a celebrony yet. It's not easy to become famous. I think she could pull it off, and I hope she does. (tear)

Which makes me wonder... what kind of name would Hasbro give to Lyra and the other background ponies? The people who run the toys the show are pretty much completely separate. What kind of name would Lyra get? Harp Song?

Nah, a script just doesn't work for live performances in general. I mean yeah, you can have stuff that you want/need to do in a show, but it's all about playing your audience. If the audience doesn't like what you've got, you need to change it up. You'll never be able to predict your audience, so you have to leanr to roll with the punches. That's what Trixie has over Twilight. Honestly if it came down to a straight up magic battle I can see Trixie walking all over Twilight, because she would be too unpredictable. Think about it - she had a trick to show up every pony who challenged her, no matter what the skill. She would be able to counter anything Twi threw at her, no problem.

Still though, I'm inclined to say her major area of magical expertise is illusions. Still a very useful skill, in the right hooves.

I'm really hoping Trixie shows up again. She was a great character in my opinion.

Prehaps seeking a chance to actually do something heroic to rebuild her shattered reputation? She seems like she could be decent Anti-Hero.

Maybe she's still bitter about being shown up, and drowns her sorrows in glazed doughnuts with extra sprinkles, with the added girth to prove it.

I think if she showed up again they should play up her OBVIOUS inferiority complex. Maybe what you said could be how the cast finds out about it? They stumble across her crying in a donut shop

Awww, depressed fat Trixie makes me sad...

...luckily though, the mane cast might get her back on her hooves. They seem like the forgiving types. Even Dashie.

They really are. I think Trixie would work as a recurring antagonist whom we slowly gain more and more sympathy for with each episode, before she finally pulls a Heel Face Turn

Yeah. Like they encounter her in their travels somewhere, and then a problem arises, and they both work against each other to solve it.

I'd love to see Pinkie and Trixie actually interact with each other too.

Mac and AJ need to step up to the plate. As it stands, being an EP is dead last on my list of what pony type would you like to be.

They can't fly, they can't do magic, and we've yet to see them in a situation where they'd really have a chance to shine.

It's not that I agree with them, but I see where they're coming from, at least. Earth Ponies are under-represented in-show. They just aren't as flashy.

For me, the journey towards redemption is better than the actual Heel Face Turn itself. Seeing antagonists slowly become gooder and gooder is a beautiful thing to behold.

Trixie is a great candidate for that
