So bit of newish info on the finale. Turns out it was orignally written as a two parter, and after it got cut to one due to the episode limit of season 3, that was when the decided to make it a musical.

Watch out for alligators!
Do they even have alligators in the Amazon?

They have caimens which are similar.

Well that explains a lot.

Mrm, but then there's the whole thing about how they're going to continue it next season anyway. So perhaps we'll still see some of the ideas that got cut down. In any case, I generally enjoyed the songs.

A two-parter with all of the songs would have been good as far as pacing is concerned, but might have diluted the "musical" feel.

Umm the reason it had a "musical feel" was it WAS a musical. Though seems the only song that got cut down for time was I've Got to Find a Way which has an extended version somewhere.

A bit yes, but it seems that was the only one that had a god chunk cut, the rest were just a few bits, that one, a very large chunck of song. But still, HURRYUP SEASON 4
Oh and here's hoping the Cold Open for the premier is another song, just to mess with us

also, final part of Canterlot is up.becuase it's setting up something for season 4? And also gives us another Empire episdoe, so yeah, if any episode should have been dropped, it's Spike At Your Service.

Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!

I'm fully aware of that. It's one of the main reasons I like the episode so much. What I mean is, making the episode a two-parter would have made the pacing of the episode feel less rushed, but the musical pacing of the 22-minute episode we got in the end feels just right to me.
Does that make any sense at all? I need more caffeine.
