I have to go to the comic store this weekend to get my box. Hopefully they put the Twilight minis in there. The guy that runs the comic store has some kind of crazy memory and he knows everyone and everything you like. Its sometimes creepy how accurate he can be with recommendations.

@Darkabomination - I can tell you that most of the main characters make it through (the story characters not the Mane6), and there is a bittersweet yet happy ending. Don't know if that will encourage you to keep reading or not though. A lot of other characters have shitty ends.

@Seraphem

Only Fluttershy survived. Twilight didn't really count since she only has occasional moments of concsiousness.

Fallout Equestria talk.

I started reading Murky Number Seven, which I like so far. I find myself wanting to give the protagonist a hug.
Fanfiction I hate.

@ dark, no no, in this the tragedy DOES lead to something greater. Things DO get better. And yes there is a tad bit of Bittersweetness to it for a few of them, but on the whole, far far sweeter then bitter. Even in the tragedy of the past. All the mistakes, fuckups, misssteps and errors, everything that went wrong...

Even in their biggest failures, the things that would haunt the Wasteland for centuries. Even in those each of the Mane 6 save Twilight left a seed of hope. A seed that would help save Equestria, help it to be reborn out of darkness. All save Twi, for while the rest left seeds that could bloom into a new Equestria, Twilight, gave them Garden in which to grow.

@ Story Applejack. Yes she didn't live till the present, but living till she died of old age, I'd consider surviving.

Like I said before, I can take tragedy. But it's starting to feel like EVA in the sense that all the tragedy won't really save anypony in the end. Or at best, there'll be a long term bittersweet ending that won't mean anything because all the sympathetic characters died before they could get even that.

Well if it makes you feel better, everything ends with sunshine and rainbows.

They do have a deadline with these scripts. Perhaps changing the character that Spike devotes himself to not being Rarity (cause really he does that all the time) seemed like a good idea at the time.

I'm a little sadden about the part about IDW and Hasbro being unlikely to maintain a "coherent continuity between the comic and the show." I can understand not seeing Princess Twilight in the comics for a while (storylines already planned out and such), but I hope this doesn't mean its just gonna diverge completely from show canon.

The thing about the darkness of FOE is that it mostly comes from tragedy, rather than malice. You don't have people being outrageously evil like you do in the actual games.

Erm...raiders stringing entrails everywhere, general air of extreme paranoia and sociopathic cockitude in most of the survivors, Red Eye, everyone in charge of the Enclave...

Like I said before, I can take tragedy. But it's starting to feel like EVA in the sense that all the tragedy won't really save anypony in the end. Or at best, there'll be a long term bittersweet ending that won't mean anything because all the sympathetic characters died before they could get even that.

Sunshine. And. Rainbows.

No, really. Shit actually gets better. It's taken painstakingly, but shit actually gets better.

Wait, there are two other people in this thread who are also replaying FF 7? All sorts of synchronicity up in here.

I have it on my PS3. Just started it up a few days ago. Barrett is named Mr.T for obvious reasons.

Red Eye is actaully understandable and feels he is doing the best thing for ponykind to survive, and even he admits his methods are brutal and cruel, but feels the ends justify the means. He's really damn close to an Anti-Villian. The Raiders, by the end even they are treated a tad sympathitcly. making clear the shear despair and pain and lose the drove them to snap. And the survivors. Very few are that bad. mostly it's either the leaders are playing politics the main population don't know about, like New Appleloosa or just a general "Not my problem" "I hate it but ther's nothing I can do" mentality. And the main point of the story is littlepip showing them they CAN do something, they CAN fight back and win, they CAN make the world better. And once they see the hope that it CAN get better... well.. as everyone keeps saying

Sunshine and Rainbows.

only group that are simply unmitigated, horrid, EVIL worthless, peices of fertalizer. are The Steel rangers, that don't end up leaving to become Applejack Rangers Even The Enclave It's really just a few ponies at the top, and the rest simply being used by them with lies and fear.

Someone should totally do a game of FF 7 and name all characters after ponies.

Feeling like I've gone rusty here.

@Calnos All that means is that the show writers aren't going to be referencing the comics or scouring them for potential continuity errors with new episodes. The writers of the comics are still going to try to remain as canon as they can, but the show can easily trump them later.
