The kids don't know what she's doing, huh? that doesn't sound like something a kid would say/ That sounds like something a kid would say to tide over their mum. Still, the strategy's obviously working: Her daughter is smarter than she is.

My best friend had a mum like that. I was the 'bad influence' in his childhood... I know exactly how those kids are gonna turn out without some decent kids around the, . Poor things. University is gonna be a bucket of cold water over their heads, but at least they'll have that. Assuming she doesn't pick it for them too.

You know what this show proves? People of different tastes and positions can be friends. And that woman has no idea of the damage she's doing to her kids.

Okay, I can understand being a bit overprotective and not wanting your kids hanging out with drug dealers or whatever, but that... it's just...

An article Apple posted about some bonkers mother. That was something the lady's... what, 7-year-old daughter said when asked what kids she liked to play with the most.

Honestly I remember went through a phase like that in early Elementary. Looking back I think I was mostly trying to get on the adults good side, and it simultaneously made me feel superior to the other kids. That ultimately didn't last though.

At least the art's gotten a lot better over time. Compare this to this.

You think that's bad? I knew a couple guys who had it bad with their parents. Just because me and my friends had low vision doesn't mean we can't handle ourselves. But their parents didn't think so. I knew one girl who was terrified of just about everything around her because her mom didn't let her go outside without constant supervision. Hell she'd even put chairs around her bed so she wouldn't fall off so she grew to have a fear of ledges so had a hard time climbing stairs because she was convinced she would fall.

Said friend did get better eventually with some therapy and parent counseling. A lot of parents want to keep their kids with disabilities safe, but overprotecting can be even worse.

How so?

If you remove the scene with Dash getting injured in an unrelated offscreen accident, her hospital stay in "Read It and Weep" could have been her recovery from the injury she got in "May the Best Pet Win".

Somehow I don't think three Dash episodes in succession would have gone over well, especially that particular mix.
