They are interesting, if you don't take them seriously.

The one's I saw (AJ and Spike) weren't interesting at all. The AJ one starts off amusing, but then it tries to extend the same joke for minutes after it stopped being funny.

Well the AJ one was the weakest overall, it was just a one off jooke, before the guy decided to make a series out of it. IMO MAGIC.MOV is the best of the series.

@Applelight: I'm basically going to just second what everyone else said. The joke and the expressions are good, but the art and and font need some cleaning. Good otherwise, though.

As for the .MOV series, I've never seen the appeal. The reason I like MLP so much more is because it doesn't have to resort to grossout humor to be funny. The .MOV things pretty change everything that drew me to the show in the first place, so I pretty much have no reason to watch them. I've never been a fan of Deranged Animation.

There's another problem...in June I'm starting a full time council job. It's 7-3 everyday Monday to Friday June to September, so that's not a lot of time for comic work. Then in October...boom, final year of collage. Even less time. And friends will be back...so I'll have to go out again occasionally!

Basically, I have to make the time between now and the start of June count.

This joke will be funnier when other works featuring Aerobat come out, as he's shaping up to be a mostly seriously composed guy who's almost stern or even angry most of the time.

Hence the skipper's surprise...he was not expecting that reaction.

I just assumed the captain was changing colors because he was like one of those mood rings... since his head started first and then the rest of him in the next frame.

Applelight - if the program you are using has an eyedropper tool you can use that for consistant color through your panel. You can use it to select a color from something already drawn and then apply it to an area.

Maybe make a stock drawing of each character, color it, and then select colors off of that when coloring a panel to keep things consistant

At least you're better off than the author of Another Gaming Comic, who's actually color blind. It went for ages before someone told him that he was drawing all the characters hair green on accident.

@Teeth: I'm ordinarily a fan of Deranged Animation — but it works best when it's actually original content. Taking something that wasn't originally deranged and twisting it into a completely different shape doesn't appeal to me at all.

If your fanon leads to unfortunate implications that could not possibly be canon truth in the context of the show, your fanon is wrong.
