Ace: Hurricane, the drunkard.

Kyler: Hmmm, true. Maybe it's more that I don't think Twi is that fashion challenged, then.

Syd: Hehe, those tufts in her coat make me want to snuggle her.

A real shame they didn't have Ciderholics Anonymous back then.

makes me wonder whether Dashie had cider as a filly, or if the Apples ever tried making Zap-Apple Cider :V

I was once so desperate for a drink I ate cider-soaked dirt.

there's an image of that floating on derpibooru somewhere.

what funny is that in the image Scoots is trying to imitate dash and eating regular old dirt.

Shame about your brother's reaction Apple. It can bite to be on bad terms with family, I don't doubt, but there are sadly some times when it's simply better to cut off. At leas for now. Who knows, maybe throwing him around a bit will shake his head out of his ass, and in a few years you can be on good terms again.

The important thing is you at least pulled the rug out from under him in this case.

Now, I was away in a scrum for a bit. Did I miss anything else important?

I don't know if it was intentional, but reading the puns in Fo E just makes it painful. The colorful phrases just serve as an ironic reminder that those days of whimsical dialogue and comedic place names is long dead. Just wow, the atmosphere's starting to get to me.

@ keg

Thanks.

In other news, I've been drawn into a debate in the Equestrian Girls thread about the morality of liking cartoon characters...like that, and it's further getting me down, so I think I'll bail for a while. Bye folks.

So, ponies. How 'bout 'em?

The Micro-Series #1 comic came out today. It was definitely something rather interesting, being the comic equivalent of a Bottle Episode. It's just Twilight and another character working and living together for a few days. No adventure. Minimal mystery. Just characterization and dialog. The whole story is very sweet, though, and excellently paced and characterized to boot. It's one thing to have Twilight's bookish nature be alluded to on occasion, but to actually have a whole story focusing on it and having her actively discuss literature with another pony is a great treat.

Dark: Wrong thread?

Note to self: hunt down a copy of the micro-series.

Is there a good amount of dialogue? If the pictures aren't strictly necessary, then I could probably read it.

There's a micro-comic now too? I did not know that. Sounds neat!

I might get the actual comics this weekend. I found a shop that sells them, but I'm dubious about getting them fro that place - they sell them loose with no plastic sleeves, which means no protection on the shelves, which I'm eh on. Plus I've been experimenting with various other comic titles which is sort of soaking up a decent amount of money at the moment.

@Kegi It's not any smaller than the normal comic. The Micro-Series is just the name that IDW gives to character-focused side stories. Each of the Mane 6 is getting one, with Rainbow Dash being next month.

@Dark Unfortunately, no. The comic makes a lot of use of beat panels, and the expressions of the characters are necessary to get the real emotions in the dialog across.

Ah, I see. That's pretty cool. Is it done by the same people as the other comic?

@Kegi Each of the books in the Micro-Series has a different writer/artist combo, meaning that we get to see a lot of different perspectives and styles. I'm not a huge fan of the art style of this particular one, but it does it's job.
