I think people got distracted by the (cute) slice of life elements so much that they forgot that the series is also a Coming of Age Story for Twilight.

Most of us are aware, but there are rather understandable concerns with having blown the load early on that, and with the climax not having been built up to properly in the sense of the episode itself. Like, concept aside, that episode just felt like it was supposed to be two unconnected ones, and we got a fast-forward of the first and the orphaned climax of the series tacked on at the end to market MOAR PRINCESS TOYS a year quicker.

General fanon is that the "rock farm" actually grew Geodes, and broke them open for the crystals inside.

I like the way Flash Fog portrayed it: the rock farm is a large-scale zen garden, charging the rocks with positive magic. Which, amusingly, makes Pinkie’s parents both fantasy counterpart Amish and Buddhist.

And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

To me - that finale episode didn't feel rush at all, and I actually thought that the 3-4 episodes before it felt rushed.

I dunno. Maybe it's because I was already spoiled about what was about to happen in the finale.

Or maybe it's cause I've just been plain bewitched by Celestia's song, lol.

Anyway, just count me with the folks who are mostly happy-satisfied-content.

The thing is, I was looking forward to Twilight being Court Mage or something. You know. As would make sense from her training. And again, despite her protagonism and the fact that she's my favourite, I don't want it to be made out that she's better than her friends. Nor do I want her elevated to the point that I can no longer identify with her. I want a role model, not an unachievable ideal.

@ Sereg: IMO, Twilight getting off of her chariot to walk with her friends says a lot about who she still is. First and foremost, she's still their best friend, and they are her best friends.

Even Discord said that the Eo M was the rarest, so Twilight is special. No way around it. But she herself doesn't elevate herself above anyone. And as has been said before, she said that she wouldn't be where she is now without her friends, and she got off that chariot to walk alone with her friends.
