So hey, after the "Equestria Girls" thing I've been kind of feeling like Hasbro is kind of messing it all up, like I can't really identify with it anymore. They're getting kind of cocky, IN MY OPINION.

I am not trying to start a flame war, really. If your opinions differ that's fine. I can't pretend to still be loving it one hundred percent anymore is all.

I'm really not sure we can say that they're messing it up, given that we haven't actually seen any of it yet. All we have as the announcement about it, and a screencap that might not even reflect the finished product.

FIM itself has kept a pretty consistent level of quality, IMO.

I would say season 3 has been the most consistent. I can barely remember any real clunkers in this batch.

Really the only episode that I'd consider subpar at all is "Apple Family Reunion", and even then the issue isn't that it was badly written, just that it really isn't very memorable. Every other episode has at least one moment that embeds itself in your memory, and AFR just didn't really have one of those. Not for me at least.

Anyway, yeah, I'd say that S3 is like S1 in the fact that it has an overall more consistent level of quality, it doesn't have quite as many top tier episodes, but it doesn't have as many clunkers either. S2 was a bit more hit or miss.

I look forward to seeing more Corey Powell next season and maybe one or two new writers.

Dave Polsky wins the Most Improved award. Of course, I'm comparing his episodes to his season 1 output because he didn't really write anything for season 2.

Yeah, Season 3 has been consistently good, IMO. Like JT, I think 'AFR was the relatively weak episode. It was still better than some shows' "best" episodes.

Season Premiere - Cunning but painfully generic villain

Ep 3 - How do I put this...just too random. Then again, Pinkie episode, so there is that.

Ep 4 - One of the most hamfisted delievery of aesops I've seen from this show and juvenile writing.

Ep 8 - In my opinion, the most boring FIM episode by far.

Ep 9 - One of the stupidest (not the Idiot Plot kind) FIM episode ever.

Ep 12 - Idiot Plot.
