My POV is that, certain future finales aside (cough), this season has been...lighter overall.

I guess I'm just easy to please, but there was never one I flat out didn't enjoy in some capacity.

Yeah, I'd rank every episode this season as at least in the top 50% overall. Some had issues, sure, but none of them weren't entertaining and fun.

And only reason Sleepless In Ponyville and Magic Duel aren't my favorite episodes ever, is because Hurricane Fluttershy exists.

I think Sleepless in Ponyville has definitely taken the top slot as my favorite episode in the series. There's just so much characterization and pathos wrapped up in there, and just about every character involved except Apple Bloom gets a chance to shine.

The Last Roundup was a problem because we saw the episode from the POV of her friends rather from AJ herself. If we would have followed Applejack from the start I think it would have been a lot more interesting because we'd get to see her motivation more in depth rather than only getting it at the tail end of the episode.

My favorite episode of the season is probably Wonderbolts Academy. Sleepless in Ponyville would be second.

Apple Family Reunion confirms it to me; AJ shouldn't get her own episodes.

My thoughts exactly. It's a shame her Applebuck Season personality disappeared.

Her problem is usually that her episodes get upstaged by her family. She does really well as the backup for a different main character — probably because she's the sanest one and works best when tempering someone else.

@Apple: What's Morrígan's deal?

I'm wondering because, in the fanfic I'm writing, I've got a species that are very loosely based off the Tuatha de Dannan. I've also got an Eldritch Abomination that, if it entered our plane of existence, could single-handedly destroy Equestria.

Initially, I planned on these being completely unconnected subplots, but just recently I decided to connect them slightly. Now, one of the aes sídhe knows about the eldritch abomination, and he calls it the Morrígan. **

Obviously I'm not being terribly faithful to the Celtic myths, but is that particular reference at least somewhat sensible?
