So why are we assuming the same things about this new spinoff even though we know for a fact that a cheesy-sounding summary has resulted in a quality show?

Because the writers who MADE the quality show are as in the dark about this as we are, and the leaked designs are as incredibly stale and uninspired visually as the spin-off's premise, being the same base body, recolored with new clothes and hairstyles slapped on it? Also, negative reaction to this spinoff could EASILY be taken by Hasbro as a reaction to the BRAND, not this show in specific- I'm talking as a seasoned TF fan who's used to To Sell Toys here.

Kidscreen magazine is entertainment-focused while the Investor Event is toy-focused, so maybe the Equestria Girls movie will come out in spring but the Equestria Girls toyline won't come out until fall? (There was a similar situation around last year's Toy Fair: the Royal Wedding of Princess Cadance & Shining Armor was announced to be in spring and fall, which turned out to apparently have been because the "A Canterlot Wedding" episodes would air in spring but the Pony Wedding toyline it promotes wouldn't be released until later.)

A lot of ideas only sound bad, but then actually turn out rather good.

[up][up] It's not just the idea of the show, it's also the designs and that, from what we know and have been told, the story staff of the original show are not on it and were not even TOLD- which means this is likely to be a show Written By Focus Group.

Did we ask anyone else besides Larson anyway? We know he isn't doing anything, but we don't know if anyone else is, as far as i know.

I'm not hopeful about it, but we just have to wait and see. It probably won't affect the main show at least.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

[up] Yep, and it's not the worst thing Hasbro can do to a brand. They could have licensed their Japanese partners to do a Kiss Players equivalent.

@What The magazine has to be incorrect, considering that the IP isn't supposed to even be unveiled until SDCC at at "Pink Carpet Event." To have it come out earlier would mean that they lied to their investors faces during their presentation.

The magazine also calls MLPFiM series three "hitting this year" and refers to the Littlest Pet Shop (2012) show in future tense even though both of those things premiered back on November 10, 2012, so yeah, I dunno what's up with the release dates in that magazine.

Maybe the magazine was printed a while ago with out of date information?

[up]That'd be the most logical explanation, but the magazine says it's the February/March 2013 issue...how far in advance do they make these issues?

Pretty nice articel with an interview with Daniel Ingram

Most interesting bit, well one, him promising plenty of new songs and new styles of song in Season 4. Also, he doesn't listen to any brony music except remixes of his songs but loves them. (Doesn't listen for the same reason the writers don't read fanfics.)

Um ... Twilight and Pinkie switched places at the last second?

Just for Sidekick's was from Spike's point of view and he just assumed that Twilight would be in front?
