There's a simple explanation for how Pinkie does what she does. She represents her Element so strongly it warps the universe to compensate. She can invoke Rule of Funny to do whatever she wants as long as the audience thinks it's funny. How can she pop out of mirrors, make cartoonish bouncing noises and still keep up with Rainbow, shoot party supplies out of a canon... Because it's hilarious for her to do so.

I just slept for 14 hours!!! tongue

I've lost Sunday!

This is all because earlier in the week, I was up for about 37 hours. It's caught up to me. Dam.

Anyway, ahoy hoy. I see we're discussing Pinkie's powers?

I did that too! (Mostly for Pinkie though.)

The problem is that can't be reconciled with the existence of long distance transportation like trains. Cartoons require you to employ Doylist thinkign in order to maintain versimilitude.

Regarding the Watsonian Versus Doylist explanations for things, I like finding Watsonian explanations, but only if they're consistent with what's been established in the show. I'm not a big fan of time travel theories because because "It's About Time" established that time travel is very rare, so having a bunch of background ponies capable of zipping through time easily just doesn't work for me.

Also, I can't believe they actually used "Steven Magnet". I mean, the other fan nicknames sound like things that might actually appear in the show. There are going to be so many kids confused by that.

Heh, yeah that is rather intresting.

Plus, a set with Chrysalis and Derpy. PURE WIN!

I doubt most kids will care about Steven.

Remembering a discussion I had yesterday with a pegasister at anime club. She couldn't understand the logic behind the fan pairing of Colgate & Spitfire... nor did she get why Colgate is associated with "brushie brushie brushie."

I tried explaining it to her, but that just left her even more confused.

Consider this, JT. Hasbro is apparently trademarking a name that came from YouTube's hilarious auto-captions.

...I didn't know Colgate/Spitfire was a thing. Its a thing? I usually see Spitfire shipped with Rainbow Dash or Soarin'...

Anyways, I keep seeing an image pop up on Derpibooru that's supposedly from the TV Movie, so might as well post this here. That tumblr claims its real, but take it with all the salt in the world.

...All I have to say is, if its real, I like my pony band idea better.

Colgate/Spitfire is a thing? And there's logic behind it? What?

[up]Ah, I was wondering when that would show up here. At the very least from what people leaking it seem to know, it's a straight-up Alternate Universe deal that doesn't affect the main show. Safe to ignore if you don't like it (and I don't expect many people to like it at all.)

I had a thought of the girls getting transported to the 'real world', turning into humans in the process. I honestly do not know what to make of this.

But I'm...sure they know what they're doing. tongue

@Calnos: Yeah, I'm taking that with a Tom-size hunk of salt as well. Although I have to admit, I'm kinda curious about how they would go about it. If it's pure AU with no influence on the original show I wouldn't inherently oppose it.

The logic I saw was this:

Spitfire is a Wonderbolt -> lots of high-speed flying -> mane ruined by winds -> needs constant brushing -> brushie brushie brushie -> Colgate is associated with toothbrushes which are used for said brushing

Back when I first started watching the show, I always got Steven Magnet and Steven Merchant confused.

@Applelight: There is no confirmation that it is actually happening. In fact it's probably a troll attempt (a likely successful one).

@ Apple: I know how you feel. When I graduated from high school I only slept like two hours in two days.

It was awful XD

@Mio Corroboration from multiple independent sources, one of them being rather trustworthy, suggests otherwise.
Seraphem avatar
#337843 from Delamare
Yeah I rather doubt it's a troll, just going by all the little things that all add up to this.

The only question left, is, is it a AU spinoff, or will this effect the show? But, seriously, this can't effect the main show, it's my little PONY. So, just wait and see.

@Lurker - you call it troll logic? It makes a certain amount of sense.

It might be the new IP they were talking about, which would mean it's a spinoff.

I don't have the stamina I had during school, which worries me. tongue

@ Mio

At this stage, after everything, I'm never ruling anything out until its officially rebuked.

Well, you figure heavy flying and acrobatics can really mess up your coat, and hey some nice pony's offering up a grooming as a sign of admiration for the wonderbolts. One thing leads to another...

Yeah, it might be a good thing if its a High School AU. I think folks were worried that the "Equestria Girls dolls trademark" thing meant they might try to shoehorn humans into Friendship is Magic. An Alternate Universe means if its a success, more money for Hasbro. If it bombs, we still have ponies.

If it turns out to be real, though, I will be slightly disappointed. There's an anniversary to celebrate and Hasbro wants to launch a Human High School AU? There's always the Season 4 premiere, I suppose.

Like I said, if this is all AU, I'm fine and will check it out. If it's a set up for Season 4. Fuck you Hasbro.
