I've realized what's different about the new Cheerilee toy (other than her being a Pinkie Pie recolor instead of an Applejack recolor◊): for the first time ever, one of her toys is using her in-show cutie mark design instead of the alternate design used by every other toy of her!

After second rewatch I love this episode. Only complains I agree that this should air before side kick episode, that could work better. But that's problem of episode.

Maybe I also that Cadence and SA had little screen time, but it's was Mane 6 episode so it's hard to complain.

I don't have issues with "Idiot Plot". It's not first time show had Poor Communication Kills for sake of comedy and as allways it worked.

And i really like new ponies, Ms. Harshwhinny and Ms. Peachbottom (especially that one, who was one of most sympathetic and adorable one shot ponies in this show).

Peachbottom tour should include Sombra designed part of castle.

I still don't get why they can't just workaround the trademarks. As I understand it, they weren't actually breaking copyright, only the trademark.

Because the US Trademark law is a massive, byzantine MESS that no one fully understands, and has so many twists and turns and stipulations.....

It's just a fucking mess, which punishes companies for NOT being as harsh as they can be in pursuing violations, even if the company doesn't actually mind the unofficial project, but doesn't want to officially endorse it.

It would be easier to get Street Fighter X Mega Man style official support from Hasbro :V That's the nicest thing Capcom has done in recent times.

Well you do have to handwave something due to their tendency to appear multiple times in the same shot.

I used Time Travel to explain how Derpy is a filly in Cutie Pox, capable of entering the Young Flyer's Competition in Sonic Rainboom and an adult in Twilight's flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles.

I blame the good Doctor's Tardis, never seems to land in the right time period.

I don't really like the time travel stuff because it's bending over backwards to give a silly Watsonian justification for what is clearly a Doylist issue. You might as well start trying to come up with an explanation for why all ponies have Offscreen Teleportation.

A unicorn did it.

An animator did it.

But I like bending over backwards to give a silly Watsonian ustification! It's fun and leads to interesting things! I wouldn't have even used Time Travel if it weren't for the canon and fanon presence of Time Travel already. I can do it without Time Travel. It's just a bit harder and requires the destruction of some popular fanon (unless you want to do some weird workarounds for those as well). Doylist thinking is completley against my nature! For me, coming up wth Watsonian explanations happens automatically to me. I have to actually put in effort to think like a Doylist!

I did that too! (Mostly for Pinkie though.)

Pinkie knows Party Ninjitsu, it also involves some serious sleight-of-hoof for her to ninja around faster than most ponies can manage, also she knows parkour. Why else can she actually match speeds with Dashie?

Pinkie distorts space with her earth pony powers. Not that she isn't fast already. Also, earth ponies are the ninjas of the royal guard, which is why we see so few of them. (This is what Sereg actually believes.)

Anyone else want to challenge my ability to craft insane Watsonian explanations for everything that happens in the show?

She also took Concealed Arms to stash her party supplies and Exotic Arms for her Party Cannon.

@Ace: That works, but I assumed that she was just fetching them via spatial distortion.

@Sereg: Well, that would help her cheat around encumberance from lugging the Party cannon (actually I personally do have some low-level powers, mostly simply bioelectrical stuff like messing with FM radio signals).
