As to the race question...maybe he isn't that fast. The CMC could sort of keep up with him.

I Imagine he's bulky and while fast, not as fast as probably Rainbow Dash or even Applejack.

Big Macintosh fact: He moves the earth, sun, and moon, he just lets Luna and Celestia take credit because he's humble.

As much as a badass as Big Mac is, I don't think one example that falls under Rule of Funny really counts as super strength. Launching all those mares is a lot like everything Pinkie does. It's funny, but I don't think he'd be that super ridiculously strong in a serious context. Just regular ridiculously strong.

Definitely think he'd be a Mighty Glacier, probly not that agile either, but get him in something that just requires hitting something hard and stand back.

As the adding Super Strength, I'd agree waiting a bit, at least till he does one more thing, completely on screen and that can't be written as a one off joke. He's still probably the strongest pony in Ponyville either way, but maybe not THAT much stronger.

hmmm, nah probably a bit slower to just as fast as most of the Mane Six (barring RD and Reality Warping time Pinkie) but once he gets goin anything that gets in his way goes down

Well the entire episode was pretty over the top. Big Mac's strength was just one aspect of that.

Big Macintosh Fact: He wasn't really a dog, he reversed Discord's hypnotism back at him so Discord would allow himself to be defeated. The whole dog act was to lead Discord into a false sense of security.
