My favorite cheeses are Montasio, Provolone, Slattato, Mozzarella, and Pepper Jack. The first 3 are particularly good in a triple layer Ravioli, Caponata, and Ziti.

That's overstating it a bit. It's not really the most high-quality stuff (I prefer cheddar or provolone myself), but it's not plastic.

yeah, i dunno where people get off calling american cheese the worst stuff ever. Maybe if you try to eat it plain, it's terrible, but you're doing it wrong if you eat it as is. It has to be melted on something to be enjoyed.

Oh my gosh, I go and take a nap and come back to two pages of talk about cheeses? I love this thread.

I always thought the moon was made of some fancy cheese, the type that's super expensive but is the last one left on the cheese platter because it doesn't actually taste good. Not something you'd want to make a grilled cheese out of.
