Ah, of course.

I did see your starting panel, not bad for a roughdraft.

Seen that one. And the multi-parter with Grogar. I always found it weird how they would have stories that spanned across some ridiculous amount of episodes, like the one with the bees and witches.

Also, G1 AJ was hardcore. Yeah, g4 AJ is awesome and all, but she never split the earth and kicked a dude straight into hell.

Not really, the End of Flutter Valley was the only long serial, and that was planned as a second movie anyway. The rest only go up to 4 eps a peace, and that only clocks in at about 36 minutes. Sadly, Hasbro's insistance at the time of cramming songs in each episode often meant most were pretty grating, though I think they chose some of the actors on purpose as a bit of a Take That. Still, there were some gems if you looked. Btw, the Great Rainbow Caper is pretty good, no surprise as Diane Duane wrote that one.

That also wasn't unusual for the era. See random shitty music video sequences in almost every Hanna Barbera cartoon.

Yeah, it was less interesting Disney-esque numbers like FIM and more generic shitty synth rock shoehorned into everything. Weirdly, My Little Pony was one of the outliers, even if they weren't particularly good at it.
