Because of The Best Night Ever, which I read twice now, my perception of Blueblood has became far more positive.

He gets even better in the sequel. Platinum Crown Blueblood is straight-up awesome.

It's an insanely convoluted political drama that springs up when Blueblood bucks his pre-arranged marriage plans for Rarity, and about a bajillion power-crazed nobles start gunning for the both of them because he happens to be heir to something important. Also, it has the most amazingly epic honor duel food fights you'll ever see. The first villain demolishes the Everfree ruins with half a dozen cupcakes.

So yeah, it's good.

Eh. That was pretty standard quality for the era (at least G1 was). Hanna Barbera wasn't exactly doing any better.

Man, it's not the corniness or sugary atmosphere that prevents me from watching the earlier generation pony series (If there is an animation cornier than this...don't tell me, actually), it's the horrible art style and shoddy animation.

Can't wait to read it.
