The most common idea is that now that she knows every time the Elements lose their connection to the pony they are with, he breaks free, she wants to find a permanant solution. Rather then risk him escpaing again and winning this time. Or worse having the Mane 6 die wihtout finding replacements, and never being able to defeat him.
