For me, the biggest hangup is still that Princess Celestia could just drop Discord off in Ponyville without any fallout from any of the other ponies in town. I mean, maybe she discussed it with the mayor, maybe, but it certainly came like a bolt out of the blue to the mane six. If I were living in that town, I know my reaction would be Not In My Backyard.

You know, I like to think that, somewhere down the line, we get some extremists spirit of order, trapping Equestria in an eternal state of stagnation, and the only way to get rid of it is a good helping of Chaos.

Now there's a good reason to bring out Discord.

Still, though, having Discord reform is odd. I mean, his very name is Discord. Since no mother would name her son like that, I suppose that he really is the personification of the very concept of discord.

Either that or the sun and moon are a local effect somehow.

As for Discord being the only one of his kind, I'd like to think that he's one of an ensemble of primordial gods who molded Equestria in the first place. Kind of like the Titans in Greek mythology before the Gods came along and shut them away.
