Yeah. Ponyville was just the initial epicenter of what he was doing. He probably would've stayed there with it as his capitol, just to be more of a jerk, bu there's no doubt in my mind it would have spread everywhere when he got down to it.

@nerv: Actually the Titans didn't create the world in Greek Mythology. That was done by another set of gods called the Protogenoi who were then over thrown by the Titans who ruled over creation until they were overthrown by the Olympians.

About the question, "What's stopping the ponies from just having Discord reality-warp all future villains out of existence?", while they may have a "Mess with things like you did before and you get turned into stone again!" leash on him, along his new fear of losing Fluttershy's friendship, Discord still can decide for himself what he wants to do. I don't remember him being under any obligation to neutralize future threats to Ponyville/Equestria in general, just to curb the use of his powers for sadistic purposes. However, he still might be able to be convinced to help (like if Fluttershy appealed to him) but it's not like he's the ponies' slave or personal weapon. We don't even know where he's going to live after the end of the episode yet, whether he goes back to Canterlot, stays in Ponyville or just travels to random places (since staying in one city/town all the time would probably be very boring for him).

That, and Celestia's anti-Discord spell shows it is possible to neutralize his abilities, so against an enemy who knows what they're doing, it's possible that they could take him out.

The protection spell seems to be limited to single objects, though. Depending on how complicated the spells is, being very prepared might mean having to Discord-proof stuff days in advance.

Side note: just finished watching the documentary and it's some pretty top notch stuff.

Discord's probably going to go to a wartorn country and basically stopped all the fighting by confusing the absolute F*** out of the combatants with his chaos.

Not sure exactly. To be perfectly honest, the idea of the Elements of Harmony strikes me as kind of silly in the first place, so making shadow counterparts for them is silliness on top of silliness. That said, Sideboard of Harmony's depiction of the Elements of Discord makes sense. As the story itself points out, none of these elements are inherently evil, but they have no training wheels to prevent being misused for evil. (At the end, Discord's last joke is that he names Celestia as the Bearer of the Element of Cunning.)

ANYWAY, Lightning Dust is definitely Ambition. And a good case could be made for Trixie being chaos, even aside from her being Twilight's darker foil.
