Fluttershy didn't really suck up. She was more trying to actually be Discord's friend.
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.
@Blue The omnipotent don't exactly need lackeys. And no, Fluttershy wasn't sucking up. She legitimately thought that Discord could change, and knew the only possible way would be to allow him to experience real friendship. She was acting like his friend because she wanted to be his friend.
Fluttershy's honesty is almost on a par with Applejack's. Therefore, I believe she really did want to be Discord's friend.
Pronounced "Sid-zellia"
Flutters grew a good back bone though.
Tealove is best pony.
Ask The Mane Six
I find that unlikely. He used to rule Equestria remember? Surely he had lackeys who tried to get friendly with him for their own gain?
This.
The only gripe I have with the episode is that the character development was too rushed, but I guess that's the deal with episodic shows in general. You can't really have long overarching storylines. You need to make due with 22 minutes.
Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.
Oh wow, he really is happy.
Not only that, but he really is really happy.
Won't be online for a while due to the holidays. Stay safe, happy and warm!
Okay, just got home and time to watch the new ep.
The moment when you realize that

C'MON AND SLAM! AND WELCOME TO THE JAM!

That's one of the things I liked about the episode. Character development ahoy.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
The happiest Diamond Dog I've ever seen. Oh and Rarity was there too. But the Diamond Dog, man. So happy.
Is the way Rarity's pulling a gem out of the ground a shoutout to
Fighting Is Magic? She's never done that in the show.
And queue the big guy
Why would Discord ever wait in line?
