So, saw this tweet from Meghan. Well, that's that then for that rumor if there were still people who believed that rumor even after today's episode.

Held off on the episode to watch Mousa watch [S] Cascade.

And somehow I managed to screw up macaroni and cheese. Well time to start watching finally.

Lol, the video I found was a troll video. Got to look for the real episode.

Pinkie has mirror hooves?

I like mn27's art. Does a lot of really cute shipping stuff, too.

I actually only succeded in catching the last 4-5 minutes of the episode. Exactly how much context did I miss?

Well that was a pretty good episode. I'm surprised Celestia bothered with the spell, since it didn't work at all last time.

LOL.

And someone in the YMMV page is complaining about wanting Discord to be "Obedient" because it's inherently a bad thing in adults apparently. I'd have to say that doing as others ask is generally a good thing, it's just not something that should be taken to extremes. And Celestia did add "of his own free will" so it's not like she wanted to brainwash him or anything.

I wonder if the countdown will just print a negative number.

86223 seconds remaining

Hmm, looks like it just rolled around to the next day, rather than going negative. Oh well.

Fluttershy blushes when Celestia touches her face... I'm assuming this is now being shipped?

Wait, Celestia is just gonna leave? She's not gonna stick around in case things get out of hand?

@Bluespade: Since when has she ever stayed around to oversee an important project when Twilight and friends are on the job?

@Applelight: I suppose that's true.tongue

I guess I'm just wondering if watching the rest of the episode will actually improve my opionion or whether I should just leave it be.

Watched the episode, and I agree with the general consensus of the thread.

Not going to say any more because it would be kind of rude to spoil Blue.tongue

Well, that episode was just plain awesome. Sure, the ending felt rushed, and yes it might suck that the show has even less villains to work with now, but I thought it was hilarious and kinda cute at times too. The rushed ending is the only big flaw I can really think of, but it's not that big of a deal compared to how great the rest of the episode was.

I do know of one troper who'll probably be mad at this though, even if he hasn't been to this thread in a whole year: Brony99.evil grin

Comedically-dammed river, ho!

I'm not sure why AJ didn't just destroy the dam. Maybe she didn't want to upset Fluttershy?

Unseal in 3...2...1...

Fighting in front of the statue probably would have been easier.

A Lso, NO ONE IS NOTICING THE BEAVERS.

I really love how you can see them in the background several times.

@Crowlover: Feel free I'll just skip over any spoilers until I'm done.

Discord is just as fun as before. It's nice to see it acknowledged that THE STARE doesn't work if the target lacks empathy. Some people didn't seem to get that it wasn't magic, just Fluttershy using the targets guilt against them. Doesn't work if they don't feel guilty to begin with.

If they really want someone to befriend Discord, they ought to have picked Pinkie.

This episode was awful, simply awful. And the worst part is that I knew it was going to be awful. THIS was the great episode of the season? My god it was booooooring! I laughed at like two jokes, no scratch that, I laughed at ONE joke. Discord telling Fluttershy her stare was useless, thats it. The only funny thing in the episode. Yeah I'm happy they didn't "ruin" the character but still it was simply awful! The most boring episode of the entire show!

And we have the obligatory contrarian.

I do wonder what kind of long-term damage to fanon was, like when the Nightmare Night episode trashed depictions of Luna, and now we have a Discord who is not Always Chaotic Evil

Hay, I don't care if this episode was "bad." As long as Discord is behaving, I'm ok with it.

Fluttershy is attempting to reform Discord by being an Extreme Doormat.

Yeah, that's really gonna work.

Completely random Wilhelm Scream in the background?

At first I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but thinking back there were a few spots before the end that he seemed on the path towards reformation. I just wrote them off because he's a good enough actor and manipulator that it's really tough to tell when he's being sincere.

I noticed that too, but I still wasn't sure until the end whether it would actually work. I half expected them to end up having to stone him again.

If they really want someone to befriend Discord, they ought to have picked Pinkie.
Recall that, back during "Return of Harmony", Fluttershy was the only member of the mane six that wasn't susceptible to Discord's silver tongue. He had to resort to brute force brainwashing before he could corrupt her.
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

It's really odd how Dash is consistently the voice of reason this episode.

... I think Fluttershy just dumped Dash for Discord. He needs a Moirail more than anyone, after all.
