I'm not a monster. I'm a professional paramilitary non-national combatant.

Or to put it another way, I like joining other people's fights.
I intend to destroy the molecular bonds that bind your very matter together, and reduce the resulting particulate chaos to tears.

I am not a monster, but I do have a major Blood Knight tendency.

I'm no monster, I'm just a scarily effective mechslayer who also happens to be a Nightmare, yet I still have my hopes and dreams :V

I'm not a monster either. I think.
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

@Deathcloud: I'm pretty sure that thread was locked. It was getting really annoying anyway.

I wonder if ponies would stand chances against elite infantry units or commandos.

Eh, I am sure it would depend on the circumstances.

Well, we know that Equestria is no stranger to war, so I imagine that they have their own special units. They're just as intelligent as us, and they have magic which may counteract the equipment divide. The only real question is their experience.

That question hinges on one other. "Are the Wonderbolts an example of an Equestrian Special Forces unit?"
"A reaction drive's efficiency as a weapon is in direct proportion to its efficiency as a drive."

[up]If so then Equestria has no hope. Unless the Princesses intervene, that it is likely we would have no hope.

If they are, they would have to be the saddest elite unit I've ever seen.

A thousand years of peace have stagnated the Wonderbolts. Spitfire aims to change that.

By the way, I saw a screensaver Applelight might like. It had Pinkie Pie walking up to the screen and banging on it, among other things.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

That's disgusting! Why would someone make a screensaver like tha—

Oh, you mean the other kind of banging.

I like to think that the Equestrian Army has a special forces regiment. Maybe the Lunar Guard.

Their traditional initiation involves drinking a litre of their own blood mixed with cider, before saying their motto: "Death is a mere hindrance."

Here's a question,

think SA's shield would give out under substanded attack even with him at full strength?

@D Roy: Force fields. If they thought there was any possibility of gunfire, they'd probably toss them up.

I think the real issue in the comparison is that in the show, it's pretty obvious that they're in full on peacetime mode; we have no clue what their capabilities would be if they were forced into a situation where the country had to go to war.

And of course, that's not even factoring it how artifacts like the EOH or the Crystal Heart might work against human weapons.

@Applelight: I'm sure it would eventually, but we have no clue how much damage it could take.

wild mass guess They're not at peace. Equestria actually has a huge military but it's off fighting. This also explains the skewed gender ratios.

@Apple: Yeah, it makes perfect sense that a powerful enough attack would be able to break SA's shield spell. The real question is how powerful that attack would have to be.
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

At full power, I'm guessing a couple of nukes within the span of a day.

(Note that Chrysalis had been draining him during the events of A Canterlot Wedding, but the shield still held up pretty decently against swarms of changelings pounding against it.)
