Hmm, it appears that Friendship is witchcraft has been blocked in some countries...
Apparently, Hasbro has set up an automated takedown system on Youtube, rumoured to be in response to China basically telling Hasbro 'Lol, we can just get the show for free, why buy it?'. Whether the episodes will stay down remains to be seen, but it should be covered by parody coming under fair use laws.
As for the actual show episodes, it's still very easy to get them all on Youtube, though the amount of takedowns have apparently been somewhat stepped up.
Something else, a website called equestriagirls.com (Just the ad of the same name on loop) also got taken down resently. This is possibly due to the fact that Hasbro has recently (Last month) trademarked 'Equestria girls'. This one isn't an issue, because one, It's not an actual episode, and two, it's still available on Youtube anyway. It's arguably pointless for Hasbro to take it down, unless they wish to claim the domain, but I can see why they did it with the trademark.
Honestly, I'm not worried. Hasbro does have to seem like they are making an effort protecting the trademarks to keep them legally strong, but Hasbro isn't stupid. They have worked out that keeping the episodes freely available and not stomping on fan content allows to fandom to flourish, and a large fandom buys lots of merchandise. So they have been making a token effort to seem like they are protecting their trademark, without actually making a real difference. I have no reason to think this will change. Hopefully, they will finetune the automated system so it will leave fan works alone. FIW is the only one that has been hit anyway. If Hasbro truly meant to take down fanworks, many more FIM things would be attacked.
