They're talking about Java, not Javascript. They're two rather different things, and Noscript simply disables Javascript as far as I know.

Java is rarely used in legitimate websites. In fact the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Runescape. Also, it has a poor security record, including 3 major vulnerabilities in the last year, two of them exploited in the wild.

It's not good for anyone. Python on the otherhand, you can never have too much Python.

@storyyeller: I like mixing Monty Python with the ponies! I could easily see a version of the "dirty fork" sketch involving Celestia as the restaurant patron who mentions a dirty fork and the Cakes as the restaurant managers who panic that they did such a horrible thing in giving her the dirty fork. The "dirty fork" sketch is one of my favorite Monty Python sketches of all.

(yes, I know it wasn't that kind of Python, but that's the kind I'm most familiar with, aside from the animal called a python)
